UB40's drummer Jimmy Brown has guaranteed MI5 messed with their telephones and followed everything they might do.
The 63-year-old sticksman - who is known to be candid about friendly and political issue - has reviewed a period during the 1980s when the security administration were watching out for them and surprisingly hacked into their telephones on the off chance that they were plotting an upheaval.
Jimmy revealed to The Guardian paper: "MI5 were tapping our telephones, watching our homes. Various types.
"We thought, 'Haven't they got crooks to get?' We were only a lot of potheads, smoking weed and playing music, looking at taking care of the world's issues.
"We weren't arranging the upset, yet in the event that the unrest occurred, we understood what side we would have been on."
